History

Lagger has been running for over 25 years!

Started by Scripture Union worker Steve Hutchinson back in 1995. Originally he invited the children he met during his schools work to camp. Now Lagger Camps welcomes any child aged 8-11. But the original ideas of Lagger Camps still remain today:

These things are important to us in making Lagger what it is:

• Jesus at the centre of everything we do

• Everyone is accepting, welcoming, belonging, trusting, relaxed

• We allow children to explore and try new things (in a safe way)

• We look after nature and our site

• Lagger feels like a family, not too big (numbers and site)

• We’re having fun, involving everyone (yet not at anyone’s expense)

• High adult to child ratio

• Good, wholesome, home-cooked food!

“Just wanted to say another big thank you for Lagger! My child hasn’t stopped talking about it since arriving home. He made and learnt about so many wonderful things, and had some amazing experiences”
