What’s Scripture Union and why do I book through them?

Lagger Camps are a Scripture Union Holiday, and our bookings are managed by Scripture Union. SU have been running summer holidays for over a hundred years, and we use their expertise to make sure Lagger Camps are great!

Who’s on your team?

Lagger Camps are run by an experienced adult team with volunteer helpers. We have a Safeguarding Children Policy and the team are subject to a disclosure from the DBS (was CRB.) Each week the camps have an overall leadership team who have over 100 years of combined experience of running camps!

Where is your campsite?

We do not share the location of our site online, this is to keep the children and our site safe when we’re not using it. When you book you will be given the address, but the site is easily accessible from the M5 and a short drive from Gloucester, Cheltenham and Bristol.

My child has additional needs/disabilities can they come to Lagger?

We believe Camp should be open for everyone! In the past, we’ve welcomed children with diverse needs and made it possible for them to have a fantastic camp experience. Please contact us to discuss your child’s needs laggercamps@scriptureunion.org.uk

My Child/Children would love to go, but we can’t afford it

We don’t want anyone to miss out on coming to Lagger due to the cost, please click here to learn more about the SU holiday fund, which offers grants from children to come to camp. This is completely anonymous, and camp leaders are not told if you are given a discount through this scheme.

Do you have real toilets and showers?

Yes-ish! We have real flushing toilets in our toilet block. But you will have to carry a bucket of water to our shower room if you want a shower! It’s not as bad as it sounds.

What’s the food like at Camp?

Food is one of the most important things at camp, we’re not joking, it’s in our Camp ethos! We enjoy good, wholesome, home-cooked food cooked by a wonderful team each day. We don’t want to boast, but some of our puddings are legendary!
