What ‘s it like?

Lagger involves wood work, bell tents, fort-making, nice walks, unbelievably yummy food, water games, survival skills, a splash pool, camp fire & singing!

Team Roles

  • Junior team

    This role is for volunteers aged under 18 at the start of the event. Not all of our events are able to accept junior team members, so it is a good idea to contact the event leader before applying.

  • Full team

    This role is for adults aged 18 or over at the end of the event who are Christians and who will be working in a face to face capacity with children and young people.

  • Support team

    This role is for people who work in behind the scenes roles such as catering or site management. They are adults aged 18 or over at the end of the event who are supportive of the work of Scripture Union and who would like to contribute in a volunteer capacity.

What you need to know

  • Cost

    £55, but we need your help more than your money so please don’t let this put you off.

    Is there a free hoody? Yes! If you pay over £20 there’ll be a free Lagger hoody waiting for you when you arrive!

  • Training

    We invest in our teams. Throughout the week, you’ll receive brilliant, hands-on training in children’s work and evangelism. You’ll be able to head back to your home Churches with new skills, confidence and ideas!

  • When

    Lagger 1: Sun 30th July to Fri 4th August 2023

    Lagger 2: Sun 6th to Fri 11th August 2023

    Lagger starts with a day of team training on the Sunday before the children arrive on Monday. Camp finishes on Friday afternoon around 5.00pm.

Full team member

We are a Scripture Union Summer camp that runs over two separate weeks in August for children aged 8-11. We are an outdoors camp, you will sleep in a bell tent, take part in activities with your tent group, play games and most importantly be able to share Jesus.
